Joining our volunteers leading table discussions at lunch is Diane Hayman, talking about Using Humour in Your Writing
Diane is a co-founder of PowderRoomGraffiti, an online community for women that brings honest irreverent insights to a global audience. A mother to three challenging children, she will be chatting about using humour in your writing, so come and have a laugh, and share what has worked for you – and what has gone horribly wrong!
Have a laugh with Diane at her table at lunch.

I'm really looking forward to this!
Lunch time is a great time to relax and have a friendly chat amid the bustle of the conference.
There's no need to sit on your own, nibbling nervously on a sarnie - just feel free to pull up a chair and join in the chat - it's a great way to meet people and make connections. It'll be great fun!
You sound like my kind of woman! I'm planning on sitting at your table, nibbling nervously on a sarnie.....
I shall look forward to that Annie!
However, if your sarnie looks nicer than mine, I may have to take a bite when you aren't looking.
I'm definitely coming along to Diane's chat - I've been emailing her recently and she's someone you warm to immediately so I imagine her chat is going to be amazing!
Aw - thanks Vonnie, what a kind thing to say! But I guess that was before you knew I was a sarnie snaffler...
So now I'm nervous about keeping hold of the sarnie I'm planning on nervously nibbling. I have a cunning plan though, if Vonnie and I sit back to back we have a chance of spotting Diane before she sneaks up on us....I'm calling this a defensive sandwich manoeuver.
Annie Mary I'm now stalking your blog so I can recognise you and randomly start a "Hey! We're going to double-team Diane!" conversation at the registration dock ;)
I think Di is looking rather glamorous in this photo! Unfortunately I won't be able to make lunch, but I recommend that everyone else does. No pressure then Di, to be witty or anything ;-)
Gah - Annie and Vonnie - that double-defensive-sandwich-manoeuver gets me every time! You've found my Achilles heel!
Pig - are you suggesting that I don't look this glamorous in real life?! I have just shown my daughter this photo - and when she finally recognised who it is, she told me she could have Photo-shopped 'that shine' away for me. Hmmm.
I'm not sure I can take much more trauma - Diane wants my sandwich and Vonnie eats her pets. If they offer me a turkey sandwich (thus combining the two),I am leaving skid marks for the exit...and I'm taking my sandwich with me.
Diane, if your daughter doesn't recognise you what chance do the rest of us have?! I guess I'll just look for the pile of sarnies...
